Are you wondering why your blog should be integrated with your website?

Today, you’re going to learn the benefits of having a built-in blog on your therapy website, as opposed to blogging on a different blogging platform.

The Two Types of Blogs

There are two main types of blogs:

  1. A built-in blog that lives on your website
  2. Separate blogging platforms

To ensure your blog as good SEO, you really want to have it built-in to your website.

What is a Built-In Blog?

A built-in blog is a blog that actually lives on your site. Having your blog built-in to your website is crucial for good SEO & ranking, because every time you add a new post to your website or you’re adding a new page, the bigger your website becomes & the higher your website is going to rank in search engine results.

Using a separate blogging platform blog such as Blogger, WordPress.com, Tumblr … etc. doesn’t help with your website ranking. Even if you do link your off-site blog to your website or a link to your off-site blog from your website, it’s not going to help with ranking your website.

How Do You Know if Your Blog is Built-In to Your Website?

The easiest way to know if your blog is built-in to your website is to recall where you log in to create a blog post.

If you’re logging to the back end of your website, then chances are you have a built-in blog. If you have to login to a different platform like Blogger or WordPress.com to add a blog post to your blog, then chances are you don’t have a built-in blog.

Another way to tell is if your blog built into your website is by your blog post URL. The URL will include your domain name and it will live on your site if you have a built-in blog. For example, it will look similar to this: www.sitename.com/blog-post-name.

If your blog in not built-in to your website, your blog post URL will have a separate domain name, like this: www.blogger.sitename.com/blog-post-name.

Why Is A Built-In Blog So Important?

Having a built-in blog is incredibly important for the SEO of your website.

Each time you add a new blog post to your website, it’s going to add a new page to your site. As I’ve mentioned before, the bigger your site, the higher you will rank. There’s a direct correlation between the number of pages on your site and your ranking location in search engine results.

Unfortunately, some website platform don’t allow built-in blogs, but most of the better website platforms do.
